On Saturday, May 5, “Epilepsy Awareness in our Community,” a free workshop that was created to educate African Americans about epilepsy, will be held at WVON’s Legacy Center. With over three million people in the U.S–including 350,000 African Americans–living with epilepsy, increasing education and awareness is a significant issue. Participants will learn about the disorder, including what to do when someone is having a seizure and how to find a doctor that specializes in epilepsy.
