The Epilepsy Foundation of Greater Chicago and NorthShore Neurological Institute will be conducting the next “Managing Students with Epilepsy: Training for School Nurses” on Saturday, February 23 from 8:00 am – 1:00 pm at the NorthShore Evanston Hospital. There is no cost to attend this event. Continental breakfast and lunch will be provided and free parking is available.

Jaishree T. Narayanan, MD will address Seizure Signs and Symptoms. Participants will learn appropriate first aid for all seizure types, current treatment options and their side effects, the impact of seizures on learning and behavior and more. 

Julian E. Bailes, MD will focus on Mild Traumatic Brain Injury in Athletes: Is it Really Mild? Participants will learn signs and symptoms of concussion, managing students with concussion, and supporting safe return to school, sports, work, and other activities.
