Savers, the national thrift chain with more than 320 locations across North America, is celebrating its 10th store in the Chicagoland area benefitting the Epilepsy Foundation of Greater Chicago. The celebration of the Hoffman Estates location will kick off on Tuesday, November 12 with a VIP Pre-Event from 6:00-9:00 pm. The official grand opening with be on Thursday, November 14 with an 8:45 a.m. ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by Savers management and representatives from the Epilepsy Foundation of Greater Chicago. The doors open at 9:00 am.
Savers was founded on the core principle of supporting local communities – and has embraced that value by partnering with local nonprofits since 1954. The Hoffman Estates store’s partnership with the Epilepsy Foundation of Greater Chicago means Savers pays the organization for every donated item, whether it makes it to the sales floor or not. When members of the Hoffman Estates community donate, they are not only giving their goods a second life, they are also turning their otherwise unused goods into sustainable revenue for the Epilepsy Foundation of Greater Chicago. The revenue received is crucial in the Epilepsy Foundation of Greater Chicago’s mission to lead the fight to stop seizures, find a cure and overcome challenges created by epilepsy.
“We’ve partnered with Savers since 2010 and we’re thrilled to expand our relationship with the new Hoffman Estates opening,” said Kurt Florian, President and CEO of the Epilepsy Foundation of Greater Chicago.
Through our partnership with Savers anyone can support and help fund our important work, such as training and educational programs for schools, the Studio e Art Therapy and Interpretations Writing programs, and our weeklong summer camp experience at Camp Blackhawk for children and teens with epilepsy.”
Not only does Savers offer an easy way for customers to help the local community, but the store makes it easy to shop for quality goods, too. With wide aisles and clean and tidy racks with merchandise organized by department, style and size, Savers is no ordinary thrift store – it’s a place where people from all backgrounds can enjoy a unique selection, good deals and fun treasures in a department store-like atmosphere. The store carries more than 100,000 unique items on the sales floor at any time and stocks up to 10,000 gently used items every day, ensuring customers continuously find a refreshed assortment of quality, value goods.
While the new Hoffman Estates store offers strong support for the local community, the network of stores across North America encourages a more sustainable environment overall. By coupling the sale of gently used, quality items with the responsible recycling of items that cannot be sold, Savers, its customers, and its nonprofit partners keep more than 600 million pounds of unused goods from ending up in landfills. Throughout the years, Savers has continued to inspire local communities to reduce their waste by reusing and recycling unneeded items, and has showcased that shopping thrift truly is one of the easiest ways to “go green.”
The Hoffman Estates store and Community Donation Center, located at 26 W. Golf Center (Roselle & Higgins), will be open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. For more information, customers may contact the store directly at 847-310-0329 or visit www.Savers.com.
