CHICAGO MARATHON INFORMATION

The Epilepsy Foundation of Greater Chicago is grateful to once again be a Contributing Charity of the 2014 Bank of America Chicago Marathon. With 1.5 million spectators, 45,000 runners from all 50 states and more than 100 countries – this is one of the premier marathons in the world…and it’s right here in our own backyard on October 12, 2014.

Interested participants must first enter the 2014 Bank of America Chicago Marathon registration lottery at any time during the lottery entry period from Wednesday, March 19, at 12 p.m., to Monday, April 7, at 12 p.m. U.S. Central Time. Entry into the lottery requires the creation of a registration account (available starting March 5). Mandatory lottery entry information includes, among other details, full name, mailing address, email address and valid credit card information.  The fee to register is $185 for U.S. residents or $210 for those residing outside of the U.S. The field will be capped at a maximum of 45,000 participants. http://www.chicagomarathon.com/

After the April 7 deadline, participant names will be selected at random from the full pool of lottery entrants. Prior to selection, duplicate entries will be removed and therefore will not increase one’s chances of selection.

Lottery selection and notification:
All lottery entrants will be notified via email of their selection status on Monday, April 14. Notifications will be distributed on a rolling basis throughout that day. Successful entrants will automatically be charged via credit card the full registration fee for the 2014 Bank of America Chicago Marathon, as well as for any ancillary purchases. Entries cannot be withdrawn after selection, nor can they be refunded or transferred to another individual. If a credit card charge is not approved by the credit card authorizer, that entry will be withdrawn and another selected in its place.

Once you have received confirmation of your registration, please forward me your receipt of registration and contact information.

NAPERVILLE MARATHON AND HALF MARATHON INFORMATION

The Epilepsy Foundation of Greater Chicago is grateful to be a part of the 2014 Naperville Marathon & Half Marathon. This event will take place November 9, 2014 in Naperville Illinois and is a 2016 Boston Marathon qualifying race! The 2014 event will follow an entirely new route, and will be open to 7000 runners.  Unfortunately, EFGC was not chosen this year to be a charity partner – but will still be participating as a contributing charity.  What this means to our runners, is that we will not be guaranteed spots for our runners and they must register through the public process – and we will not have a tent in the charity village.

Interested participants must first register for the 2014 Edward Hospital Naperville Marathon and Half Marathon through a system of general online registration entries. The fee to register for the full marathon is $115 and $85 for the Half Marathon. The field will be capped at a maximum of a total of 7,000 participants for the two races combined. Early Registration will open for the 2014 Naperville Marathon & Half Marathon on Saturday, March 8 at 6 a.m. CSTClick here for the run’s website.

Once you have received confirmation of your registration, please forward me your receipt of registration and contact information.

ZOMBIE INVASION 5K INFORMATION

It’s time to get your creep on or run for your life!  This is a one-of-a-kind event that will take racers through a sea of obstacles on a zombie infested course. Run, climb, crawl, pull and slide – whatever it takes! – to escape the living dead.  Friends and family members can also participate in the event as a zombie and try to steal your lives before you cross the finish line.  This is the first year that we will be forming an EFGC team for this hilarious 5K event that takes place at Blackberry Farms in Aurora, IL.  The event organizers have not yet posted the date or details of the 2014 event, but has historically taken place on a Saturday towards the end of September and registration has been $30.  As soon as information is available – we will forward it on to you.  In the meantime – here is a link with information from the 2013 Zombie Invasion.
