Registration for Camp Blackhawk 2014 is now open. For the first time, there will be two separate sessions of Camp Blackhawk, giving twice as many kids the chance to participate in this unforgettable event. These sessions will take place July 13-18, 2014 and August 3-8, 2014 at Red Leaf Village in Ingleside, IL. Up to sixty campers can attend each session of Camp Blackhawk, which is offered free of charge.
Camp Blackhawk offers kids, ages 6-17, the chance to come together and enjoy all the fun activities that come with a trip to camp, while leaving behind various challenges epilepsy can bring to their daily lives. They are all surrounded – some for the first time – by dozens of other kids who know exactly what having epilepsy means. They don’t have to worry about what people think if they have a seizure or if they will be excluded from activities just because they are different. At Red Leaf Village’s safe and medically monitored environment, kids take part in fishing, rock climbing, swimming, zip lining, arts & crafts, and more.
Campers are accepted on a first come, first serve basis and priority is given to people within the Epilepsy Foundation of Greater Chicago service area. Space is limited. Click on the link below to download the application.
