Eligibility: The applicant must be an incoming freshman or attending an undergraduate college as a full-time student for the 2014/2015 academic school year. They also must have a diagnosis of epilepsy and reside in Illinois.
About the Scholarship
The Berner Scholarship for Students with Epilepsy is a $10,000 award, of which $5,000 is a grant and $5,000 is an interest free loan that must be paid back within seven years of leaving undergraduate school, whether a student graduates or not and/or goes on to earn a graduate degree. Eligible students must meet the following criteria:
- Is an incoming freshman or attending college as an undergraduate full-time student for the 2014/2015 academic school year.
- Has a diagnosis of epilepsy
- Is a resident of Illinois
Judges will evaluate the submissions and award the scholarship to students who meet the above criteria. Recipients will be selected by a committee that will apply the same standards to all applicants-scholastic accomplishment to date, financial need, and community partnership and leadership.
