For many, living with epilepsy can be difficult to talk about. While great strides have been made to alleviate the stigma associated with epilepsy, it is still all too common for someone to feel uneasy about vocally addressing the everyday challenges they face. The Interpretations Writing Program enables participants to express their feelings and experiences of living with epilepsy through the art of the written word. Whether it’s with poetry, fiction, or an autobiographical look at the impact epilepsy has had on their lives, writers have the opportunity to share their personal experiences, express their emotions, and highlight their talents as a person impacted by epilepsy.
